Belima Study Center

Liberian students in Zorzor do not have a safe place to study and collaborate and also struggle to receive passing scores on exams. To address this need, HELLO has built a study center in the Belima community in Zorzor City, Lofa County.

The study center is electrified and offers students a safe place to study, especially at night away from mosquitoes. The study center also has a library with textbooks, reference books, and reading books for children and adults.

HELLO’s co-founder assesses a student’s reading level to help him pick out a just-right book. His friend is learning too!

There are still needs for more books to fill the shelves, bench seating inside and outside of the building, and funding for the librarian and security personnel. All donations made to the study center will be dedicated to maintaining a safe and secure place for students of all ages. Funds will be used to install secure doors and windows, an air conditioner, light bulbs, tables, chairs, computers, internet subscription, and generator fuel.

After school, students were asked to sort the cards into different categories, which builds language, reasoning and mathematical thinking skills
